HOW TO GET A MINE IN ZIMBABWE

DID YOU KNOW that ZIMBABWE is a significant producer of lithium, chrysotile asbestos and vermiculite. Gold, platinum group metals and chromium are Zimbabwe's key mineral resources. The Great Dyke provides most of Zimbabwe's chromium reserves. Zimbabwe is among the richest countries in the world.

Here are are the few steps you need to follow to get yourself a mine in Zimbabwe.

1. LOCATE A SITE

First of all locate a site that you are interested in.

2. An Approved prospector will verify whether your site is open for prospecting or not.

If you cannot find the site for yourself, the Pegger will help you find the site.

3. Buy a prospecting Licence

You will need to buy a prospecting license from the mines office in the province which you wish to register the block/mine.

For land less than 100 hectares, you need a writen consent from the land owner.

For Land more than 100 hectares then the Pegger (Approved Prospector) will notify  the land owner about his/her intentions to prospect and peg a mine within the land.

For land regarded as State Land. You will need to inform  the district administrator of your intentions to prospect and peg. However, in some districts a letter of no objection is obtained from the rural council at a cost.

4. The Pegger (Approved Prospector) will then do the paperwork together

Within 31 days from the day of posting a prospecting notice, the Pegger will submit the registration notice, pending for registration.

The Ministry of Mines will then issue a certificate of registration after their site visit and you are on you to Running your mine.
